Saturday fun
Jan. 6th, 2024 06:50 pm It's four in the afternoon, and our windows are rattling. Orthodox Christmas is indeed upon us. Will be so the whole night long and tomorrow, too. Why do those firecrackers have to be so loud?
We had not a bit of wind during night. There's a bit of rain, but definitely no snow. It has been dark all day long and will get cold eventually, that's all. I so wished that our ski regions would finally have snow enough to stop the fabrication of artificial snow. The planes are coming in non stop today, bringing in the tourists who want to ski. But first they will have to fight their way to their destinations. Chances are that it takes two to three hours to get through the bottleneck of the construction site. So typical of our Asfinag! All our motorways are in a bad shape, but this one is the worst, with no detours! Poor tourists, and poor son in Graz, who will have to wait for the new cabinet a bit longer. At least, until the skiing season will come to an end!
Hubby has resumed janitor duties for sister. When she left, she had turned the heating off, because it was warm outside and she would be back in two weeks and the heat coming from the neighbours' flat would be sufficient. Now that it's getting cold, sister noticed that she has a seminar and won't be able to come. Poor hubby was asked to turn on the heating that does not love to be turned on. It works well when on. It takes a lot of patience to get it up and running!
I have finished the row of horror of the Celtic wave. 118 stitches on each side of the throw, but to get three stitches forward you have to crochet three chains, one slip stich and six single crochets. For the rest of the day I will read and watch TV. I am still tired from yesterday's fun with the neighbours, which lasted until one in the morning. Hubby had been to bed long before me, no more wanting to listen to three ladies gossipping...
