Welcome to dream wonderland
Jan. 7th, 2024 07:27 pm Yesterday at five in the afternoon our doorbell had rung- son was outside, a bit flustered. He had promised his wife to shop for fruits she had not bought the day before, but forgot that it was a holiday here. Good that we still had apples and blueberries and a mango, and, of course, milk. Later in the evening husband mine did give Too Good To Go a try, bought a surprise bag at a nearby Chinese restaurant for 4,99 Euro- and came back home with dinner turned into next day´s lunch for three- a big plate of sushi, even more appetisers and two main courses. This morning we had to bring aunt Lil some of the goodies. The only thing I had to cook was rice, but this got done by the rice cooker.
Hubby and I had a hard time to fall asleep yesterday night- too much banger shooting done by our Orthodox neighbours. And at three o´clock I got woken by hubby himself, who was gently shaking me, asking me if I was alright- I had been laughing so loud in my dream! Oh yes, it had definitely been fun time in my dreamworld! My favourite elf had been wandering on Arda, to deliver a Christmas message given by Manwe and Eonwe to today´s world. Each time he began to mentally write down the message he barely remembered, there was a cacophony of sounds and pictures flickering before my eyes, just the way a slot machine does, that gave me a headache, even in dream. Poor Glorfindel met old friends and foes on his way, for instance Elrond, who was a first class badass. It was so much fun to see my favourite elf wander along, clad in a Roman tunic and sandals, singing Let it Snow, when he got verbally or bodily attacked, leaving a white wonderworld behind him, while he tried to puzzle out what exactly he was meant to bear. And yes, he got attacked quite often, hence the amount of snow, while he had to dodge racing tractors and a party ship with Galadriel on board crashing down from a cliff. A combination of LOtR, the Ice Princess (did watch it on TV for ten minutes the day before then felt nauseous) and the current weather situation (it had started snowing in the evening, not half as much as feared, but still). Fun thing was that I visited places I had been to in my youth, like the old prince-archbishops summer riding stable, which had been near our flat and went up in flames one day (did so in my dreams, too, when Glorfindel tried to cook dinner). Which reminds me that a lot of buildings worth of preservation went up in flames, when I was young...
I must have picked up a cold, when I was out in the garden to hang bird fat balls onto the apple tree with my hair still wet from showering. That´s why I did a lot of chilling out and reading in the afternoon- about Simone de Beauvoir first then interiors around the world- this book got brought by Amazon last week, and I had not yet unpacked it. I shamelessly admit that I browse their book list for special bargains at least once a week. I love looking at pictures about modern living styles (and old ones, too)!
