No rest for the tired
Jan. 27th, 2024 07:49 pm Today neither Flavius nor Cassian felt the need for an after-lunch nap, while I longed for one, and very much so, after another mostly sleepless night! The boys came in the morning, picked up by my husband. We had present opening ceremony, did play a lot with the new Lego, and Tütensuppe (Fireman Sam) and Nürnberger Bratwürste with pretzels for lunch got devoured in record time, even though Flavian was still a bit sick. But even though bellies had been full, sleep did not come for the young ones- we watched a second episode of Ninjago then got up again. Hubby dressed the boys and went for a short walk, while I baked orange cake from scratch. No clue how it tastes- we will eat it tomorrow only. So glad that I baked, because Oscar's birthday celebration will most likely get postponed- both Oscar as well as his mother are sick. Daughter will come anyway, to leave the present for her nephew at our house and most likely stay until Monday. We will need a lot of crossword puzzles and maybe start the next jigsaw. Conservatory is cleaned from any traces of Christmas- took me long enough!
And just when DiL picked her younger son up, hubby realised that I had used the last eggs for cake- so we did an evening trip beyond the border- shops on our side close at six on Saturday. We now have eggs, a blue muffin, two Paw Patrol jogurts and a brand new micro machine Dodge. Cassian is ecstatic...
