Never before...
Apr. 11th, 2024 06:51 pm ... hubby was out of the bed so quickly as today. I was drifting between awakeness and sleep since six in the morning, when all of a sudden I heard voices in front of our house. Hubby woke, too, listened- and then it dawned on him: it was the chimney sweep and his apprentice, who wanted to get into our house. I winked after hubby, who did a record dressing, and took my tablet, to immerse in the strange world of fanfiction for the next half hour, which was spent with howling in laughter mostly. Hopefully the poor chimney sweeps did not complain about a lunatic living on the upper floor of our house!
The boys got brought at twelve by hubby, who else. Today husband wanted a special lunch 8he alone loves very much)- ramson dumplings with Gorgonzola sauce. Since most children are not so fond of Gorgonzola, I also had to do a sauce Bolognese. THat´s a lot of cooking for two boys, one hubby and a dieting me!
Grandchildren had a one and a half hour nap then went into the garden, much to hubby´s chagrin- for the next days he will have to pick gravel off the lawn, because not all toy trucks made it from one gravel bed to the next without accident. But all in all the stay went surprisingly well. Hubby left at half past five, to bring the boys to their father, besides, he has another ticket for a concert this evening. I will watch the remaining forty minutes of The secrets of Dumbledore then go to bed early.
BTW: We might be lucky tomorrow- DiL texted that she is not sure if help with the boys will be required tomorrow, so wish us luck!
