Last day with rain and some snowy episodes, so I hope. Hubby´s early morning duty with grandson number one had its advantages- he brought fresh bread rolls from the bakery when driving back home. For lunch Cassian had ordered fish fingers and chips. Boy ate most of the chips, which left me with the fish fingers- daughter and husband opted for yesterday´s leftovers as main course. After lunch the boys were off for swimming, daughter and I continued with the jigsaw and had a nice afternoon coffee party with Sachertorte, until a neighbour showed up, who apparently always finds her way into our house when there´s cake. No clue how she does this. At least, she did not show up in the evening, which she usually does (when she does not sense cake)- hubby did exchange Friday´s concert ticket for today´s concert, and I can do what I like this evening, before everything goes down the drain. I am sure that both hubby and I will pass this stress test, but at what a cost- quite likely I will be a nervous wreck for some time. However it could be that hubby will cease to bring the boys in so often- even doting grandpas will panic when two little monsters wreak havoc for two whole days straight...
Daughter will leave tomorrow with my favourite cake recipe (idiot-proof) and a tart mould- the only one appropriate for a household of two. I hope that one day it will find its way back to our house, or there won´t be cake here for a long time!
BTW: I just had a look at the current local weather forecast: 8 degrees, mostly cloudy. Then I had a look outside. Our thermometre in the garden shows four degrees, and it´s raining cats and dogs, the occasional snowflakes present, as always these past ten days. Maybe our weastherman should better start a career as a teller of fairytales...
