Another day lost
May. 3rd, 2024 07:34 pm It started early in the morning, when I was no more able to sleep and found out that daughter mine was up, too. We whatsapped until 7:30, when I finally got up, had breakfast then dressed for a shopping trip to Smyths Toys, where I got presents for Cassian and Flavius but no new Schleich horses for me- I seriously doubt that this firm will exist for much longer. Not one of the toy shops here stocks those toys anymore. And I definitely cannot order them from Amazon.
Back home, hubby and I were one day early for the yearly fish sandwich day, which meant no real cooking today. After lunch we started our daily afternoon nap. Or better, hubby did nap, while I had a long phone call with number three and family. Those young ones can´t handle problems well! Because young Matthäus will have a two-months period, where he cannot attend day care centre- he´ll turn three in June and has to go to kindergarten then- but kindergarten pauses in July and August. And it´s hubby and me who shall come for a two-week period and take care of both children. Not this, but next year. Oh dear! When son finally finished the call, sister mine was already in front of the door. They left at seven straight- her husband is 81 already and would have preferred to go back home earlier, but each time they prepared for leaving my husband had more questions concerning renovation work in their flat. Sister´s husband practically fell asleep at the dining table...
So nothing of importance got done today. I did not even turn my PC on, but wrote this entry on my mobile. Now I only need to find a recipe with strawberries for Sunday. No cake, because DiL is very strict and will serve her favourite Romanian one. Maybe I will simply dip the berries into white chocolate and decorate them with dots o dark chocolate. At least I will not have to worry about temperatures too warm- we will be up to twenty at the weekend. Today we had a meagre ten...
