Oh my!

 Hubby had felt a twinge in his knees two days ago. That was the day we had Asparagus for the first time this asparagus season. Now he firmly believes that it´s another bout of gout coming on, causes by- asparagus, what else! Not the pork he loves to eat, not the crispy skin of the chicken he loves to steal from others, not the beer that he drinks now and then. The culprit has to be the asparagus. I told him that I do not have a problem to eat one bunch alone- hubby has never peeled asparagus and even less cooked it, so the workload will be the same for me, I´ll only get more of the vegetable, while hubby can eat my portion of meat. A win-win-situation so to say!
Hubby mowed the lawn, I did a bit of tree-trimming, we had lunch early then opted for a long, uninterrupted nap, much needed after last night´s frog concert, done by frogs in our tiny habitat, the huge one of our neighbour and in the nearby pond. Damn, those beasts are loud, and there´s not a room in the house not affected by the noise- the tiny menaces are all around the house! Yet I love them...
We had started our rest, when suddenly the doorbell rang- daughter alarm! She had had an appointment at the bank and thought that maybe she´d get a free meal at our house(she got one, of course) and could help me with the jigsaw (she did help, indeed, she´s way better finding pieces than I am). Half of the jigsaw is done, after all this time:( And there´s five more jigsaws waiting to get built, before the next ones will surely make it into the house at Christmas :((
Now that daughter is off again I brought the small yuccas and the last surviving bonsais out to the table on the balcony. Weather will be rainy tomorrow, so those won´t get a sunburn. BTW: My camellia died during the late frost period we had in April. She had started to flower, then came a sudden death...
But one of my acorns is flowering- looks very pretty at the moment!
