Mentally balanced again...
Jun. 3rd, 2024 06:05 pm Two nights of sleeping late have brought about it. The fact that two neighbours, the ones who are wandering their gardens at an ungodly hour each day, are off is very satisfying. First one is on vacation, second one on a health cure. Even my love for cooking is back- only that we had a lot of things dying in the fridge, because family number three won´t eat certain things like mangos and avocados and pork meat. Also the use of pepper and/or chilli is strictly forbidden. Food has to be bland but won´t get eaten anyway. I had to make use of leftovers today, so I did a hot chilli-mango-avocado salsa with pork steaks seasoned with ginger, garlic and miso. It turned out really well- there will definitely be a repeat!Hubby and I were out to do some work in the garden, and back in soon after. Rain has returned during night, and we have to make good use of the short periods without, even though power washing of the concrete slabs does not seem ideal when all is still swamped with rain water. But pressure washer is one oh my husband´s favourite toys tools.
Apparently sister mine does still think of hubby being her private janitor. Today it was a dripping boiler in the bathroom- a big no to unprofessional repair work! Not even hubby did try his luck and came forward to call a plumber. Bad enough that there´s at least one call a week for hubby´s help! That´s what you get when you eagerly say yes too often...
When out in the garden I found out that we have an epic invasion of black aphids. Apple tree and mirabell tree are the ones which suffer most. At the other side of the garden it´s some sort of rust fungus which wreaks havoc. Not a chance that I will be able to use pesticides and antifungals with all that rain that will come down the next days!
Working on my PC (typing entries, writing emails, doing research and read ff is so much more satifying since I rediscovered my headphones-now I can play music at my pleasure without hubby darting in and commenting. As for him its mostly classical music. My listening range is a bit broader. I love to here classical music, too, then there´s lots of movie soundtracks and, to husband´s horror, heavy metal. Heavy metal it is at the moment, with headphones, of course, or hubby would already be parading in the tiny studio, voicing his displeasure at my choice of music...
