Yesterday's dinner had been nice. We had a shady table under a conker next to the huge playground, which was nice, because it was still 34 degrees. Not many kids around, not as many guests as usual, must have been the heat and the football game, which started at six in the evening. The boys were great as was the meal, and it was nice to see my sister happy. The surgeries on my BiL went all well, the renovation work in the flat is almost finished. Now it´s all about new insurance contracts and the like. We came back home around half past eight after having brought son and grandsons back home, I finally had a glass of wine- why is it always me who has to do the driving on such occasions? It would be nice to be able to drink a glass of wine or prosecco now and then! And do the next long drive instead, which always gets done by husband mine. Hubby and I discussed the preparation of next day´s lunch- family number two and daughter will come for spareribs. I was to marinate, do coleslaw and a dip, hubby the barbecuing. Plan was that we´d have lunch at one thirty, after the boys had their midday nap- at their home, of course. Two minutes into the football I was up in the bedroom, preparing for a sleepless night, even though I had turned the aircon on. The moment I would open the windows, the heat would come back in- and so it was. We never went below 26 during night. Strong winds brought cooler air in the morning, and our guests save one aunt Lil got swept in early, too- hubby said that he had told me this after he had talked to son, at half time of the football game. I think I sported my best What-the-Schubert face at that point. It had been two minutes I had watched this absurdity of a sport, and only because I had not yet finished the wine. Sent a message to daughter with the exact time we´d have lunch and was long asleep, when hubby went to bed. So no slugging in the morning but supervising two hyper young men, next to preparing the meal. Hubby´s next lapse was when he forgot to park my car into the carport because of the thunderstorms that were said to come. Hubby cleaned the trunk of the car, and that was it. Car stayed on the street. No, hubby had not heard of oncoming thunderstorms. No, no change in weather was about to happen. No, he had never agreed to park the car. Why should he, he had not touched it since yesterday. This is getting worse- I think it´s about time for me to get a bit worried- Alzheimer is prevalent among hubby´s side of the family. If only he´d agree to visit a doctor for this!
