Strange things will happen...
Aug. 5th, 2024 04:50 pm ...in your dreams after going through countless photos which visualise your past. It must have been those photos who showed that I once had a life with lots of hobbies and friends. Clearly this happens when you are young and live in a town. But hubby was always more reclusive when it came to my social life. So I went through pictures where I travelled with choir colleagues around Europe- by train, by ship, but never by plane, this was for my sister only. My parents thought that taking me to the States or Japan (for free) would have been too much of a hassle for hubby. So I spent these times with my family, bathing my toes in some lake, while hubby watched over me and the rest of the family toured. Please notice that I had been the one with a qualification in voice! Whatever! Tonight I dreamed of being on a ship touring with friends, when all of a sudden everything went dark, and into the dining room stormed a Minotaur. I dove under the dining table and watched him devour one of my friends, before he queued up for the buffet, plate in his hooves. Surely I must have looked at too many photos of Knossos! Darn phantasy of mine!
At breakfast hubby had another horror story for me, which might induce slightly strange dreams in the future. When son was at our house he thought he´d found a hornet in our bathroom downstairs. Yesterday I forgot to turn the lights in said bathroom off. When already in bed I heard hubby make use of some sort of spray and later the vacuum cleaner. Turned out that a lot of those beasts had made it into the bathroom, buzzing around mad as hatters. Hubby killed them all- who wouldn´t! So this morning hubby was looking for the hornet´s nest. He found it straight above the bathroom window under the shelter of the wooden facade. He sprayed some of the beasts and got only stung once. Now I know that no one is allowed to remove a hornet´s nest, but since I won´t tell anyone that there´s one inside our facade...
We made it up to 22 degrees today with occasional rain. I swear I´d love to spend a day with thirty degrees but without all the humidity in the air and in the ground- when I went out into the garden to kill the honeysuckle off (well, most of it) I sank into the wetness of the soil (thanks to all that rain and my overabundant weight).
In the afternoon I continued knitting the shopping bag, but then I found the first blisters on my fingers and went to the living room, to weed the last photos. l´m done now, but it´s only a third of what is still hidden in sister´s drawers. If only sis would do a bit of weeding herself! But no, she is prancing from concerts to theatrical performances back to concerts, all the time bemoaning that there´s so much work to do concerning moving. I so knew why I told my mother she´d better bring sis back to the hospital where she must have got her from...
