Cold spell is gone, as are family number three

 At first I could not believe my luck: son number three left with daughter and wife for Werfen in the morning, leaving Matthäus with hubby and me. But it did not take long, and they were back again. The weather had been cool and foggy in the morning, and they were heading towards the mountains. None of the three was dressed properly for such an adventure, if one might call a trip to the castle´s parking space then take the overpriced lift up, watch the show then go back to our house an adventure. And all this because Elsa had thrown tantrum after tantrum at their last hotel, because they had been late for the local bird of prey demonstration. Burg Werfen is not so far away (roughly 30 kilometres), but one will have to take the motorway to get there, because as a special bonus they have closed the detour via country road for renovation work- so to say in addition to the roadwork on the motorway. There´s traffic jam practically all day long. Family number three did not get that far anyway- they decided to turn back, when the car thermometre showed 10 degrees only. A wise decision, and even wiser was the one to return to St. Pölten in the afternoon, because Elsa did not calm herself so easily. From tomorrow on summer will show up again, with 35 degrees in the east and south, which leaves meagre 28 to the rest of the country. The nights are really cool already, between 12 and 14 degrees. Some trees have decided to call it a summer, their leaves turning yellow already. Okay, maybe they did get too much water and drowned...
Hubby and I looked at each other, did a quick cleaning of the living room then turned the TV on to do absolutely nothing for a time- it´s as if our power switch automatically turns to off when this family is out of the house. Those four are exhausting, that you can say again! But we have gained a night and a day of peace, and we should be glad! Or better- I should be glad, because hubby is on his way to Hoffmann´s Erzählungen, and I am completely spontaneous concerning today´s evening entertainment! Next wave of grandchildren will roll in on Friday, the day daughter mine got assigned an additional early shift. That´s all for this week. I hope so...
