Occupational therapy needed
Aug. 28th, 2024 08:06 pm It was a most ordinary day- warm.sunny, we even were able to use the pool, even though temperatures barely reached 28 degrees and the pool water is nearing the ominous 24 degrees I need to dive into the water. Not even much cooking got done today, it was mostly a getting rid of food family number three had deigned too spicy/too stale (pick a slogan you want) to eat. DiL is very good at ticking me off- she´s throwing half of the things she gives her children into the bin after a first bite. This time she outdid herself- number three, too, gifted me a bottle of exquisite red wine. I poured the three of us a small glass, she emptied hers into the sink when Elsa wanted to go to bed early.
All that chasing after grandchildren and cooking and doing the cleaning when they have left has made me so lazy and desinterested in everything that I have even skipped reading the daily newspaper in a proper way. It´s mostly scanning the headlines then do the crossword puzzle and the sudoku, and that´s it. Hubby is mostly the same, though he´s the one who gets out of the house to do the daily shopping at least. Otherwise we are pottering in and around the house mostly, husband a bit more vigorously, me not so. It´s all sort of depressing and has to stop. Can´t be that we suffer from burnout syndrome because of our offspring and their progeny meddling with life in retirement too often. So we decided to make a plan for short trips. When hubby showed me his proposals I found that he had mostly places on his list that will need a grandchild to accompany us. That was definitely not what I had in mind! Hubby should be glad that I can´t turn into a dragon- he might end up as a crispy ba
