...so no need to make them darker even with the help of rain! At ten in the morning the surrounding houses stood out like lanterns. Damn, I hate soggy winters. I know, I already talked about me hating snow, but today I'd have preferred living 200 metres up the hill- from the bedroom window I could watch the snow line. Our friends live up there, and their house soon would be snowed in, so I thought. Happy snow shovelling! Around ten strong winds made our Christmas baubles take flight, and temperatures rose almost up to ten. It was still dark and raining cats and dogs then, so no more shovelling for our friends. The cold had retreated to the south of our country- son called to tell us that it was snowing quite hard in Graz.
After chatting with son I had to run some errands- drugstore, banc, KiK and Aldi. Did you know that Aldi and Lidl will sell Dubai chocolate next week? I read an article in a newspaper this morning: At Spar and Billa this chocolate is sold out. The chocolatiers here- we have many, famous ones- are doing overtime, only to be sold out early in the day. By our German neighbours mostly. What the heck! Before they do their weekly filling-up on gas, because it's cheapwr here? BTW, I did a stop at the gas station on the way back home from good old Germany. During the time I had a nice talk with the lady at the register the cute Christmas tree outside got blown over twice. Baubles everywhere, a worker hunting after them so those would not get run over by cars. To say it was unpleasant to be outside was an understatement- it was more than awful, and I was glad when I made it back home. Krampuslauf in the evening got cancelled- the punch stand crashed sometime during the afternoon. No punch and mulled wine= no Krampus, because selling beverages will help to keep additional costs low, and there´s lots of them! Cassian was livid, but that´s life, and life is not fair! Hubby took his car and went over to stagily deliver a Zwetschkenkrampus and sweets- he had a heavy chain with him to imitate the sounds a Krampus is supposed to make. I hope the boys did not take a tumble down the stairs at the attempt of getting out of the house and have a look at the hellish figure! Their mum might even be glad that the Krampuslauf did not take place- she was able to stay at home and clean the house. On Sunday she has chucked her three boys out, because she will do another class in drawing and does not want the three to be near her clients. Now guess where number two plus sons will spend the day! Hubby has already immersed himself in plans for menue...
I did so-called Faule Sau Kekse today. It´s basically cookies for those who are no way ambitious to do cookies- shortcut pastry formed to a role with a gouge where you put jam in. Bake it, put powdered sugar on top then cut it into small stripes. No, I am not made for baking, and neither is my sister. Only that she has a husband who loves baking. Mine only loves eating the product...
