Four off, one in
Feb. 1st, 2025 06:47 pm Blessedly both boys slept like logs during night. Flavius got up at six thirty, his older brother one hour later. I just knew which boy to pick for sleepovers! After breakfast Cassian helped me with cooking, cutting vegetables and adding spices such as Ingrid (he meant Ingwer=ginger) to the meat and the broccoli. Almost as funny as the dangerous Irene ( Muräne= morey) Oscar met in the aquarium. By cooking the pork and the bones hubby had extracted I made the base for tomorrow´s ramen and even managed to have some left should I want to do the soup myself. Flavius went for a pre-lunch nap- he tends to get infuriating when tired and managed to damage one of my wands by throwing it (hubby had ordered him to immediately bring it back to me which grandson declined vociferously)- while his brother watched more Ninjago. The parents came, we ate, Flavius threw another tantrum which ended with rice everywhere. Finally, the family left. I went upstairs to have a short lie-down with reading when daughter snowed in. No lie-down then but some crossword puzzles and lots of gossipping. Hubby was off for Saturday grocery shopping and got almost all things that should be for sale from Monday on only- no wonder that some articles are no more available at the beginning of the new week. Now we know...
I was a bad grandma and watched the Minons movie the boys and I had started to watch the day before to the end. It´s so much fun to watch Cassian watching- one day his face will split! He´s not one to laugh out loud, but it´s easy to see how much he is enjoying funny movies.
We haven´t had food moths for years- groceries and spices get boxed the moment they are in the house. I do inspect the shelves every month. Today I killed four of those beasts, which means that I have to clear out the wall cupboards once again. Okay, I missed the January inspection by some reason, so no big deal to do it at the beginning of February. My guess is that the culprit is the rice I got from our neighbour. I so hate it when this happens...
