Happily playing along
Jan. 31st, 2025 05:15 pm ---while seething inwardly. Son called yesterday, when I was already in bed. DiL intended to redeem the voucher the two got as a Christmas present- means that the boys were to have an overnight stay at our house. In compensation we got invited to have ramen at their house on Sunday. DiL would bring the boys around two in the afternoon. I wondered how many hours it must take to complete her make-up, when they would be off in the evening only. In the morning hubby invited Dil and son over for Chinese pork belly on Saturday, using Whatsapp. Hubby must have caught some sort of saviour syndrome- he cannot endure the two suffering from too much to eat and probably too many drinks, so he always thinks it´s me who has to cook for the family the day after. Well, it did not take long until son was calling again- since I was already cooking I surely could do the meat for the ramen, too, killing two birds with one stone. Now that´s what I feared, because my brain can combine quite well- it´s me now who will have to do the annoying part of the ramen soup by doing base and meat, and daughter-in-law will cook noodles and eggs and some green stuff. My bets are on pak choi, which I do not like at all. Strange sorts of invitations I get...
As always, DiL was early with bringing her boys. Wish she was so when picking them up! Cassian and I did Lego package number seven, and it gets more and more complicated. The boy soon was discouraged while I struggled through. Anyway, it was way too cold in the conservatory for building! One thing hubby and I have learned: Always have cake or cookies in the house when the boys are here- they are always hungry! They ate two donuts with a cup of hot chocolate- suited to the weather we have at the moment- it´s sleeting again! Then the two rascals insisted on rearranging the new glass cases- I had forgotten about the Hungarian horntail in my crocheting basket, the largest of the figurines! Afterwards I printed two templates out for crafting- only that the printing ink has dried up. Cassian and I did colour for a while then gave up and went down to do pizza for the boys´ dinner. The poor guys had to lunch in kindergarten today- mummy still has a cold and did not feel like cooking. She was only able to concentrate on one thing of importance, which was going out for dinner then partying in the evening...
