What the heck
Feb. 7th, 2025 06:53 pm Last night had been a hard one, and it wasn't even Elsa's fault- she has been sleeping soundly till 6:30 then turned her tablet on. Usually okay with me, because I can sleep longer. Only that I wasn't able to sleep at all- my back was killing me, and still is. Maybe too much breast-stroke swimming, but lying in bed did hurt a lot. Moving did hurt, too. Worst was coughing. When family number three arrived I just had finished cooking lunch and was in bed, trying to catch up on sleep. Of course, it did not work, because my back was still protesting. I did some exercises before I went down to meet my godchild. More exercises, when family had finally left, but still not much progress. I am able to sleep when sitting (took my afternoon nap this way). But I can't spend the night in the wingback...
Elsa announced that she wants to come back soon. She has enjoyed her stay very much, even though she fell back into princess mode the moment her mother arrived. We talked about her incapacity of concentrating on a given task, which will make it hard for her in school. Strange how much DiL's and my opinion deviate from each other! School is no bowl of cherries, for the pupils to pick out what they want and what not. Elsa is very clever with picking out, because her mother lets her. Not so sure what her prospective teacher will think about this!
Xaver and Oscar both passed the first semester of school with flying colours. Those two got trained for grinding from day one. Definitely not happening with Elsa, and even less with Cassian. Not sure if the latter will even pass his school enrollment test! He is a clever boy, can concentrate, but his basic education got neglected by his mother, who still thinks that school, and school only, is responsible for this. Never met a child I had to teach how to hold a pencil...
