Not that it did not rain yesterday, but in the evening the rain turned into a downpour, which only stopped occasionally. Hubby forgot to close the basement windows- no clue at all why he opened them. No, rain did not make it into the house, but what we have now is that pungent smell of mustiness all over the house, which comes when hot air from outside meets cool one. I went down to the basement and turned the dehumidifier on, to battle that smell. One day I will board up all those windows- there's a say that one does air a basement in winter only. That does not work with people coming from a household without basement. Especially not with dunderheads like husband, who does the Let's air the basement and see what happens-game each and every year. For the next weeks the dehumidifier will have to run non-stop...
Number two gets after his father- a master of intrigue. Hubby is interfering with my meal plans almost each day. Son does the same now, but from afar. The thing is: Cassian and Flavius love sushi, so we decided that today was to be sushi day. We bought all the missing ingredients, such as salmon and shrimps. Yesterday at ten in the evening son Whatsapped to ask me to do dumplings for the boys, because he had cooked too much chanterelle sauce. The boys like chanterelles, I definitely not. By far the most annoying mushrooms of all to me. Of course, our woods will be covered with them after the amount of rain we had just now, which means potential danger of having to eat more of those dreaded mushrooms, because friends of friends of our neighbours, who all seem to spend their days of retirement wandering the wilds, will give them away, to undermine my cooking plans. After lunch I battled our recorder, which was most unwilling to play HP 1 then battled the microwave, which was not inclined to produce proper popcorn. At one point the recorder gave in, Cassian was happy with the movie and a meagre bowl of popcorn and I found a replacement for our ancient recorder at Media Market. Tomorrow hubby will pick up sis's new fridge from Media anyway and will buy the new rec then.
Son postponed his arrival once again, which suits me fine, because tomorrow is change-the-bedding day. New bedding for number four and five's room, Cassian will take his to our marital bed. Flavius and hubby are banished to the guestroom. I have to remind myself to not feed the boy too much dinner, Cassian loves to puke during night, especially when he's not in his own bed...
