Oh my God! The horror!
Sep. 11th, 2025 07:22 pm First thing I read in the online paper: Kik will close a big number of branches. The big closing has already started in Germany- even the branche I used to buy in, because it was the closest to the border, is no more. Now the big closing will start in Austria, too. Seriously, Europe is done. Today bad news about Kik, yesterday the same concerning Schleich... Only food retail trade is striving. Yet. Now let´s see how long it will take until we will see signs of ruin. It can´t be standard that all the supermarkets get a complete make-over or a new build every ten years, lots of them even earlier! Please note that it´s mostly the customers who will pay for this nonsense via higher prices!
Thoroughly depressed I started to Tedi, only to notice that they do not sell what I need. Tiny brooms are sold out. No beads, at least not in the colours I need. So we are back to Amazon shopping- more expensive but available. My ambitions for handiworking got a ticking-off! I picked up my prescriptions at the apothecary, added Boxagrippal to the list then drove home. I did cook- two eggs for the ramen. Hope it counts! Helped hubby build another frame for the insect screens- I did not even know that we have six windows in the basement! I might reconsider my wish to exchange them for flood-proof windows- way too expensive! My guess is that after today´s hard work only a sixth of the jigsaw is unfinished. I had a run of luck in the afternoon, which is perfect, because I want to work on the refurbishment of the conservatory, preferably before daughter is back home- she does not like changes! But she sent me a picture in the afternoon I quite like:
