Short post
Oct. 11th, 2025 06:03 pm While I was whiling away the morning, doing a bit of this and a bit of that, the afternoon turned out more hectic. Son did Whatsapping us quite often to ask what was needed for the boys' overnight stay, which confirmed my suspicion that their mum was already out of the house in the morning. Must be one hell of a birthday celebration she is attending! Hubby and I had early lunch, and then we waited. And waited some more. Son was supposed to start work at four in the afternoon, and since he was the one who wanted to bring his offspring to our house after Flavius's daily nap- a nap his mother insists on even though the child has turned four now and prefers to skip sleeping- it was odd, when none of the three showed up. I cut the lemon trees outside- may they survive the new fashion- nursed my scratched hands, crocheted a bit. Still no grandchildren in sight. Finally, ten minutes to four, son showed up. Flavius had overslept. That child I want to see that won´t get out of bed when getting roused. Then again, today´s children are different: highly sensitive little gems, who´d surely break when confronted with real life. I just imagined DiL3 asking her offspring Do you want to get up now (so that I can go to work) or not? And if the child goes for no, work has to wait. Not so sure how employers would react, there´s already too much discussion about work-life balance. Whatever! The boys painted four paper ghosts (and my fingers) white, two lids of jars (and my fingers) black, we tried to form ghosts out of gauze drenched in glue (worked beautifully on the fingers, not so with the ghosts). At five thirty hubby let the boys out for a bit of biking- a bit, indeed, because they all were back in five minutes later, after Cassian had rammed his brother. Blessedly dinner in form of salmon sandwiches was ready and I had half an hour to type this entry, before the youngster had finished eating and hubby turned the TV off. At the moment they are marvelling at the newest additions to my Schleich collection, but I am pretty sure that in a few minutes we will do the highly amusing (for them!) Staubmaus game...
