Quiet day

 ...which suits me just fine. A bit of housework to do, and cooking, of course. Hubby wanted pork with mushrooms. Not the dried ones of which we have aplenty, but fresh champignons. He must love to watch me cutting them:( I roasted the fillet to the point it needed maybe two more minutes to gently simmer on top of the mushroom sauce, while the dumplings were softly boiling along. Told hubby what he was supposed to do. And what did hubby do, while I put the fresh linens onto the marital bed, which takes five minutes only? He turned the heat fully on- that's overkill for pork fillet. Hubby really should work on his cooking skills:))
The only highlight of the day was my heroic fight with neighbour's stupid dog Luna, the one which went off with the big bough I used for decorating and nicked hubby's car. Today I saw her in our garden again, went to the terrace door and watched her trying to get off with one of the winter wreaths on the glass table! I stormed outside and wrestled the wreath out of her mouth then shooed her off. Five minutes later I heard a scratching sound- dog was working hard to get into the box with the bird food. She ran off with two bird fat balls and devoured those, before I was able to put my garden shoes on. I took the plastic out of Luna's mouth, before she ate that, too, then grabbed the broom, no, not to fly but to chase her back home. I managed to not slip on the ice but will be the laughing stock in the neighbourhood for some days...
