Today I got up at a quarter to seven- why stay in bed when one is rested (at least, it felt this way at that moment)? Prepared breakfast, spread the daily on the table for reading. Now guess who showed up, when it was seven straight? The one who steadfastly insists that the best sleep is to be had in the morning, but apparently only when in my company. I have to take this fact calmy, preferably paired with humour. Men at this age tend to be clingy. Very clingy, strictly speaking...
Since hubby was off to what he thought was an informative meeting concerning the issues with the new ID needed for lots of documents I did housework in form of dusting and floor wiping then decorated the entry area for Easter. Hubby came back fuming- he had been told to strictly follow the directives to get into the system- apparently he had thought himself above those. Five minutes later he managed to get into his tax office account. Ah, there we go! Another ten minutes later number one was in front of the house, bringing Konrad and quite a lot of boxes with him. We haven´t seen much of the boy, since his mum did a tour into mental ill-health. In fact, none of the boy´s relatives have, not even DiL1´s mother. Quite the contrary, she turned into DiL´s nemesis, since she did never spend time enough to get her hands clean when touching her daughter´s precious offspring. Now I wonder the way DiL will handle her coming home from hospital work. Will she take showers with disinfectants? I hope not! Number one brought loads of his sons´ parkas, footwear and sports bags- all lethal to health because of waterproofing compounds- only that those companies have not applied those since 2021. At that time Xaver was three years old- he definitely won´t wear those items anymore. And Oscar never passed his things over to his younger brother, because his mum thought this was definitely uncool. So the parish flea market here will have brand-name items for sale- good for them, unless those resellers will get their hands on those things. I hope this won´t happen!
Since the boxes with clothing were already in the house I quickly added table spreads, curtains and bedding (all brandnew but the wrong material, colour, whatsoever- see, I am not that much better than Dil). Hubby will bring them to the parish office next week. My goal free-the-cupboard is almost accomplished. Almost. The rest will follow...
While today´s lunch was in the oven I started the next package of the big jigsaw. Daughter was not amused, she thinks I am taking advantage of her being at work. To my knowledge, it was I who got the jigsaw as a Christmas present! Children can be so strange...
Once again I circumnavigated the overdue pruning. Maybe tomorrow, and the plum tree only. Honestly. I´d love to prune that tree down to a height of half a metre, leaving only a bit of the stem to be able to get out the roots more effectively.
BTW- hubby bought herbs aplenty and potted them into new balcony troughs- which now block the terrace. He forgot that we are still down to freezing temperatures during night. I don't know whether to laugh or cry...
