I did not fall asleep easily last night- must have been the full moon (called worm moon- gross!) First thing I had to do at three in the morning was scrape the ice off my car's windows- definitely no fun without gloves. The tour to the airport was uneventful, but going back took way longer- one of the cars on a car transporter had gone up in flames. Traffic jam at three thirty- at least people were able to pass by on the (not so fast) fast lane- police had to resort to convoy control. Back home I found hubby patrolling in the living room. Oh, that man!
I had a late breakfast and an early shower then did marginal housework- hubby had decided to do another batch of bacon jam, which involves hot fat, which in return leads to breathing problems on my side. That's why I went up to the bedroom, opened the windows and indulged in more sneezing- by far nicer than coughing!
I defrosted a casserole for hubby's lunch and was off to the airport to pick daughter up. We had lunch at Yaoyao, an Asian restaurant with authentic cuisine. I had wonton soup (very different from what one will get in a Chinese restaurant, but really good), for the main course rice bowl with smoked eel. Loved the eel, not so much the Wasabi-flavoured rice. Dessert was sticky rice with mango. Excellent!
Then we had to do the trip into town- more traffic jam, hoorey! We did our shopping in the Chinese super market, had to wait for help when trying to pay at the checkout of the parking area (our parking pass was defect and turned the checkout into some sort of disco- I was waiting in the car but clearly heard the ringing through the walls of the building). Brought daughter to her flat then drove back home, bone tired now after so much excitement and not enough sleep. I had a last coffee without cake, solved the tricky sudoku then went to my PC, to study today's prime time programme, which is not at all satisfying. I think I might retreat to bed (and reading) early...
