Sister promised she´d come more often now that the borders are open again. Well, not completely open, because you still need one of the three Gs and an entry registration, but that´s okay. For now we have arranged another meeting in June and two in July, plus we will try to celebrate our birthdays in August together. Yesterday we had too much cake, but Cassian bravely cut his way through the excessive supply of sweets. We now know he prefers apricot cake to the fresh apricots his mother had brought with her. Mother was devastated. The time of fruits and vegetables only has come to an abrupt end.
Rainy days are back again. We are down to 16 degrees, and the light in the living room has been on all day long. Hubby is doing what he so loves to do: pumping the excess of water out of the pool so that it won´t flood the installations room. An easy task, you think? Technically yes. The tricky thing is that you have to keep an eye on the water line, and that´s what husband dearest often forgets to do, hence it is pumping out then refill, or the water pump in the installations room will go kaput. Alexa is no big help, half of the time she fails to raise the alarm.
I finally managed to find embroydery needles. I have a huge cushion cover I want to prettify with Christmassy motives. Hey, don´t laugh, it is only a good half year until Christmas Day, and I am not an accomplished embroiderer! It might take some time to get that pillow case ready for use! Now if I only knew where I have placed the embroidéry cotton I bought last year!

You are right: half a year isn't much. And long-term projects usually take more time than one would assume. Especially if you have to hunt down the ingredients first.

Yay for family reunion! Heidi and I have been planning a visit (from her side) for weeks, but even though she lives in the Ballungsgebiet and could get here with only one change of trams, one of the grandchildren always gets ill (Theo likes to bring home germs from Kindergarten and graciously shares them with the rest of the family), so she doesn't dare to come. We have Mum to consider, after all.

Not to mention that I also managed to misplace the embroydery instruction I had chosen. Will have to find a new one :(
Those germs are vile indeed. Maybe you can meet your friend on neutral terrain when she does not feel sick? Not the same, I know, but better than nothing.

Is there such a thing as too much cake? I agree with Cassian — apricots are all right but apricot cake (or jam) is better :)

And this is the very time to start a Christmas embroidery project I reckon.

i have to proudly announce that the young one had three variations of apricot: the fruit, apricot cake and apricot jam in his krapfen.
