I have taken down most of the decoration inside- outside it´s too windy and cold, but the snow that was supposed to come has never arrived except for a few meagre centimetres. That´s all we got, and most of it has thawed off. I need more wool for my knitting project and have been searching all day long for the knitting yarn I stowed away some time ago, knowing that I´d finish the square blanket at some point. I have found the squares I knitted once, I have wool for two more squares, but there has definitely to be more of it, I only need to find it! But I am through all of the boxes and drawers in the studio and the guestroom- nothing, nothing at all. That´s impossible, because I found the draft for the old, bigger blanket for which I had acquired all the wool needed. Maybe it has wandered off into the cellar...
Just watched an episode of Top or Flop. This way I got a nice tour of Lake Havasu City, the town where our relatives in the States used to live. My parents have been there a few times, my sister has been there, while I was the one to stay home and take care of my children and the family´s pets, as always. That´s what you get when you have offspring, you get lumbered with all those things that are hindering others from enjoying a nice holiday- a bit more work won´t kill me, they always thought, and off they were, while I was feeding pets and watering plants...
Meeting sister and her husband was fun, though she was not able to pick my niece up in time, because her train was delayed. What a pity, it´s not that she lives that far away, but you never know what our politicians are coming up with relating to Covid!
One of our unvaccinated neighbours, who is supposed to stay at home and not wander into shops save for buying groceries, has just packed her car full with articles she wants to sell at a flea market tomorrow. No matter how strict the rules, she always does what she wants, and never gets caught!

I absolutely relate to your problem with the missing wool. I am knitting a blanket of squares in two different colours for my niece who is pregnant, and thought i have put plenty of wool away for just such a blanket only to find one ball of one colour has disappeared...

I've taken down the few decorative items and put away the Christmas presents, too; the tree, however, still stands proudly and will do so until February 2.

You know, your home-staying times remind me of my childhood. We lived at my uncle's, who vanished with the entire family for the whole summer to Lake Balaton, and I had to water my aunt's plants (she had a veritable jungle) and to feed the parrot and the fish. And to clean the cage of the damned parrot. That was when I swore a solemn oath never to share my living space with either plants or animals of any kind...

Apparently yarn has a mind of its own! Would you mind to share some pics of the blanket once there´s some progress to be seen? I have to do one, too, or daughter-in-law will be very disappointed if she does not get one! I´d prefer a knitted blanket this time, they are cosier than crocheted ones!

Thumbs up for tree still standing! Mine will have to go soon, thanks to too much sunshine it has been unnaturally warm in the conservatory for a long time, and the tree is practically dead. I love my glass ornaments, one has already died an untimely death on the tiles!

I have some of the blue squares finished — I will take a picture in daylight tomorrow.
