Husband mine, number four, a sofa plus a dining table were supposed to leave at nine in the morning. And the unthinkable happened- they managed to leave half an hour earlier (usually they are an hour late). Since hubby will be off all day long, I did what I can do best- absolutely nothing but reading and watching videos. It got boring very soon, so I did a bit of cleaning in the conservatory, a room we will need tomorrow- a friend will come for a visit, and we do not need hubby sitting next to us, listening to what we are tattling about. That´s the problem, when you practically have a one-room unit on the ground-floor. Conservatory is like a fridge, because hubby has turned the heating off, saying that palms and lemon trees do not need that much warmth. Well, I do, and my friend, too, so I have searched for the only electric heater in the house, which will keep us warm and cosy. I also found two huge spiders, which (not so) sadly are no more. No cooking got done today, because there´s still some coq au vin left for hubby and me. Also no baking got done yet, but at least I roasted the walnuts for the tangerine cookies. And then I tackled the worst part of the new old knitting project- the back of Elsa´s cardigan. Endless rows of misery ahead and fingers, which will hurt even more, because those have to drag along a second set of yarn. Then there´s the problem with the red wool- I fear that there´s not enough of it, and the shop I bought it does not sell it anymore. I thought that there´d be a tiny ball left from the first version of the cardigan, but it has gone into hiding...
With no hubby at home I thought that football was off the table- now guess who is sitting in front of the TV! At least the knitting sits on my lap, as does Vaire cat. A couple of years ago I would not have dared to unpack my knitting with that cat in the room, but now she only watches the show...
