We got up as usual, because grandson behaved well during night. He did show up at four in the morning with pillow and duvet, but slept until half past seven afterwards. We had breakfast, then I helped him brush his teeth, did the creaming (three of my grandsons have inherited neurodermtis, not bad, but still) then dressed him. And then I waited. Did a bit of crafting with grandson (ghost in a bird cage). Waited some more. At half past eleven I dared to ask when the boy would get returned to his father. Turned out that my husband had stipulated that the time after napping would be okay, but forgot to tell me. Aha. I did a quick lunch, put the boy to bed then wanted to crochet one or two of those endless rows- alas, my crochet hook had mysteriously vanished. I must be jinxed! Cassian found it under my bed after napping- perk of slender arms is that he was also able to grab it! And I know that the time of the big bad bed shifting has come again. It's about time to get the hole mess cleaned, which means carpets out, nightstands out of the room, too, and then it's a pushing back and forth and to the left and to the right, to get the remaining dust off from below- the bed is too big for the small room, but so very comfortable! With Cassian finally off I began to prepare son number four's room and the guestroom for family number three's visit. At least they will only be here for lunch tomorrow then harrass number one's family for a while. Hubby reminded me that son had mentioned he wanted Elsa to sleep in the guest bed in the studio. I hope that son has forgotten about that! But I will play nice and clean my work desk, so that the red guest bed can be extended for my granddaughter if nedd be, becxause she is used to sleeping in a queen-size bed at the age of four. Wow!
I used the remaining 16 grandchildren-free hours for adding one row to the throw, which, as usual, had to be unravelled. I blame it on the fact that I had to work when the sun was already off and the lights on. The next three days I will better hide my needlework! Still unsure which cake to bake and which snacks to serve on Saturday. DiL has already bowed out of helping, and daughter mine seems to have fallen off the face of the earth, so no help from her side either! I see three strenuous days ahead...
