I am owned by two cats. Indoor cats, who seldom come outside. Our neighbour is the official owner of four cats, all of them outdoor cats, who seldom are allowed into the house. Then the owner bought another house and moved out. The cats are now fed by her friend, who moved into her house as a new tenant. The problem is that said friend is away most of the time, so the cats are fed by staffers. Or, in this particular case, not fed at all, I think. One cat lives on a sofa on our terrace since spring, the other ones come running each time I return from work or open the frontdoor to collect the newspapers or hang out the laundry. The big grey one sleeps on top of my hubby´s car. Hubby says he is waiting for him to return in the evening, then jumps onto the car and curls up after some petting. The shy red one sleeps on the doormat, so be careful if you have to leave in a hurry, cat may still be there. The white one slept in our vestibule last night, in the drawer where I had kept the cat food. Haven´t a clue when and how she managed to get into the house. No more cat food in the drawer since cat ate it all, I´ll have to do cat food shopping, should the situation worsen. It´s a shame when someone doesn´t care for his pets! I did already converse with the original owner, she said she thinks that the cats are fed kinda regularly, but I saw the feeding dishes, all of them sticky, on top a mass of flies. No wonder the cats strive for a change of location!

If you feed them, they´ll always come for more. If you don´t feed them, you´ll feel guilty, and the cats will still be hungry. What a mess!

I'm owned by 7 inside cats, and I have a feral colony of 8 in the back yard that I feed every day. They're quite spoiled and have a nice yard and covered patio to live in.

I´ve decided to feed them. The cats have lost a lot of weight during summer, when the no feeding started. I still wonder where they will spend winter, since they are not allowed inside.

I´ve begun feeding the cats even if the owner does not want it. They look starved, have lost a lot of weight during the last weeks. We have already had two nights with night frost, I wonder where these cats will spend winter since they are not allowed into their former home any more. I would like to take them in, but my tomcat´s first action was to spray the place where "enemy cat" had spent the night.

It's such a hard thing to contend with. how do you leave one of god's creatures to starve, you know?
