It was only a matter of time...
Nov. 11th, 2024 05:23 pm ...until this would happen. I am not bemoaning me having to take care of some of my grandchildren this time, not at all, you´ll be delighted about this fact! I was waxing the bench in the conservatory when I saw a piece of a jigsaw on the afghan- when I dissected the last puzzle it must have fallen onto the floor. Thank heavens that hubby had not shook it into the garden, when we started a deep cleaning of the room, it must have hidden itself on the bench. I reopened the puzzle box, put the piece into the corresponding bag (we keep border and the rest in two different bags) and went on with waxing. Only when hubby took the broom to clear out the tiny space behind the huge plant out came another puzzle piece- and neither daughter nor I have a clue to which puzzle this piece belongs. That´s what one gets when one does not tag the entries- I am pretty sure I have posted all the jigsaws daughter and I have done. The problem with the original puzzle boxes is that the motifs are so tiny that one won´t be able to detect tiny white flowers among pink and violet ones. I will have to go through all my old entries. Pity that I deleted most of those pictures in my photo album! Now I will have to do some sleuthing...
I have to admit that I left the house only twice today- to empty the bins and take some firewood into the house. I so hate the cold- we never made it over four degrees today! Still no rainfall, even though I assume it will be snow at those temperatures. I do neither need nor want any of the white menace, and even less now that a friend and I intend to do a more thorough tour into Germain terrain tomorrow morning. It´s our annual visit to the winter market of our favourite garden centre. Since my spruce next to our entry door died this summer- my fault, I did not water it regularly- I am in need of a replacement. I am not sure if I want another conifer or an unkillable piece of decoration only! Pretty sure that I will find something to spend my money on!
Since it was so dark all day long I did not bother with knitting. Only in the afternoon I spread the balls of wool on the marital bed and started to work on the back of the cardigan. It´s the best place to do so- plenty of space, bright electric light (oh, my poor eyes) and no husband interfering. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked out- no meltdown on my part, more than one row of squares done now, I might make it up to the armpits until Elsa will come to visit! It is essential that I take her measurements before I continue with the rest!
