Cooking woes, and there goes my summer...

 I got up early today. Prepared breakfast, went to bring in the newspaper- and it was not in the box. The deliverer must have noticed that hubby forgot to install the camera. So wet, frozen paper for breakfast it was. Very annoying! Hubby was angry at himself, because he only noticed about the camera at ten in the evening, and by then he was too lazy to bring it out. Angry husband is bad, because he will likely give his cooking a try to calm down. At ten- I was upstairs taking care of my feet and eliminating facial hair by the use of my laser- I noticed a cloying smell with hints of burnt sugar- doing caramell is not for beginners, even though hubby did not mean to do caramell at all. He said he´d found an easy-peasy recipe for Topfenstrudel. Haha! The dough out of the freezer did not look appetising, so hubby needed to buy a new one. Finally, two hours later, he brought out two only slightly burnt Strudel. Meanwhile I heroically fought the Thermomix, until that darn thing finally decided to work. Made two jars of walnut-parsley pesto for the fridge plus enough for today´s lunch. Sister cancelled her visit- it´s she who sports a cold now. Unfortunately son did not cancel. And what he told us made my hair stand on end! His wife will spend the whole of July in Romania as artist-in-residence at the recommendation of Salzburg University. Father-in-law and his paramour won´t take the boys, not even for two weeks- they say they are too old for this (shit). Besides, the boys don´t talk Romanian well enough. Son can take the boys twice a week for them sleeping at home, but he has to be in charge of the theatre till the end of July and will not be back home in the evening before eleven PM. That leaves hubby and me for childcare for the whole of July. One month with Cassian and Flavius- I better blow my brains out! Hubby thinks the whole thing won´t be a problem- getting up early, and by early I mean really, really early, feed them, and if we are lucky the younger will be able to attend kindergarten, while Cassian cannot as a child starting school. I am so doomed!
