Hubby was on pins and needles, so ready to pick grandsons up from kindergarten. Weather was fine but should change during the afternoon. All bikes were out for the boys getting in good trim- we will see, especially Flavius is no friend of getting trimmed. And even less by the use of bikes- Cassian was well able to bike at this age, his younger brother prefers the balance bike, if he can be persuaded to stay outside for a while. Hubby did palatschinken for lunch, I did a spicy filling with minced meat. Unfortunately husband had to do the batter twice- he had muddled up flour and sugar. So I gave the famous do-it-in-the-pan cake another try, and it did not work- again. This has been at least attempt number four? five?, and I am giving up on the recipe. Today I haven´t even caramellised the apples, yet the batter burned at lowermost heat, and after five minutes at that! Hubby cut off the burnt part and will have the rest as desssert for coffee time. And I thought that I might be delighted to have to cook again after three days of Chinese restaurant food! Nope, I´d say. Yet hubby is already planning for a big meal tomorrow, when the boys will get fetched by their parents- which means I will have to do dinner for five adults and two very hungry children. Okay, count me out, if the parents show up after five...
