Our terrace is not a big one, but with hubby's tiling skills one never knows if it will be usable this summer. Plus hubby always goes by the weather forecast, which told we were to have rain today. So hubby did another short row of tiles- yay, we are up to twenty percent of tiled surface- then put the tools away and waited. And waited some more. What did not come was the rain. It was moderately warm (22 degrees, oh, what a heatwave) and clouded- perfect weather for a tiling that did not take place, because, you know, rain on the horizon. I turned the washing machine on, hubby hung up the laundry. In the living room, of course, because the terrace is taboo and the garden is cluttered with tools. Frustrated I opted for lunch cooking (the let's look what will expire first-way). Did rearrange the content on the dressers next to my bed. Half of the books got returned to the book shelves only half-read. So not interested in discussions about women's place in the society at the moment. For this I have a sister, who loves to discuss. Incessantly so. It gets uninteresting with time. The dressers look nice now, but I will have to place the old suitcase with my drawing utensils up there, the one I used as a nightstand. Problem is that each time I need my colouring pencils or a brush I have to clear the suitcase and lift it onto the bed. Annoying, very annoying. And the floor is hard to vacuum in such a narrow space, so up with that thing...
In the afternoon hubby was still watching for rain, so I decided to take my car and search for a present for princess Elsa, who tends to get grumpy when its her brother who´s getting all the good stuff, birthday or not. Found some Lego so that she can do some handicraft work with it. Also bought a tiny Playmobil police motorcycle, because Lil did not have the time to buy a present for her nephew. After buying the newest edition of my favourite magazines I went back home. Oh yes, Pentecost is near, and with it the apparently never ending stream of tourists- the streets were blocked both ways. The tunnel tubes of the motorway will get reopened only two weeks after Pentecost. Definitely good planning, because Pentecost always has lead to huge traffic jams in the past. I think I will better stay at home tomorrow, because Friday is always the worst!
