noadvertising Hubby has done it- again. When I told him we'd have sour soup with smoked meat (in the fridge already) and sliced pancakes for lunch he asked me to consider that family number two, too, needed a warm meal after a stressing day of going back home (after two weeks of not even having to think of cooking). I must have given him a look that would have put Severus Snape to cowering, because hubby left, mumbling about taking care of it himself. Just do so, husband mine! I only wish you'd have considered doing so when I was young, having three kids and cooking all day long during holidays because husband always booked an apartment and certainly not a hotel All Inclusive! Now that he's old he's contemplating things he better should have contemplated when young. Because it never had been fun to cook in the heat of an Italien summer day while watching our three kids, when husband was off to surf. So hubby did Schnitzel, I made pancakes and warmed the soup and a pot of rice. I did not use my rice cooker but a pot, where the rice burnt. A bit. Never meddle with an angry wife...
We had another jam day on the streets. It was neigh impossible to drive between our town and the next one. Those Germans and Netherlanders know the rat runs better than I do. Probably have an up-to-date navigation system. Hubby tried to get to Hofer twice then gave up and went to a pricier shop. Only in the afternoon the queues of vehicles thinned out. Nevertheless hubby was late at the train station, packed with groceries and Schnitzel and rice. I hope he did not get scolded!
I did a first swim in the pool today- very refreshing at those quite warm temperatures. Today we finally made it over thirty, wow! For one day only, tomorrow there'll be thunderstorms and warning of strong winds. Maybe I should tell hubby to clear out the carport. He might not love this :)) It's crammed with tools and tiles and tile cement. BTW, tiling is done save for two treads which might get done tomorrow. But hubby is in no hurry, as always. I speak from experience- my guess is that those treads will get tiled at the end of June, if I am lucky. If not I will have to wait till August, when the boys are off to Romania...
