It worked!

It took quite a while to keep Flavius in bed yesterday evening, but at some point he gave up and slept. I did not hear a peep during night, but in the morning came a triumphant cry- the sun is on! A few seconds later the boys were in the bedroom- the sun-moon clock was a success! I hope it will work in the future, too!
Today was cherry jam day. First the boys wanted milk rolls with hubby's newest creation. I shuddered (no sweets, thank you very much) and made myself ham and eggs. For lunch they wanted Frittatensuppe, then palatschinken. With cherry jam, of course. They dressed and were off grocery shopping with hubby, while I did housework. Hubby had turned the washing machine on early morning. It's not that the boys will be here until Sunday evening (at least, I hope so) but a drying rack in the middle of the room is a would-be danger to their health (though in my opinion it's the drying rack which is in potential danger of getting demolished). It´s a fact, a grim one at that, that for the next weeks the amount of dirty clothing will double thanks to the two rascals. More clothes, more bedding, towels and and and... I fear that doing the laundry two times a week won't be enough! When they came back from shopping number two was with them. Son looked a bit odd, which comes with getting home late, or better, early (in the morning). Great, one more person to cook for! With their father here the boys turned from nice and helpful to little monsters. Apparently this is how it works with children, I can see the same with number three´s offspring. Not so much with Oscar and Xaver, but those two are trained to the core.
In the morning I was not so sure if today's weather forecast and the promised fun in the pool would hold. It was sunny in the morning, but also too cool for summer- eleven degrees only! But we were able to do some bathing, and my eyes took the brunt again. Those eye drops won´t work when children will not accept the word no and splash my face every few minutes! I learned that the only way of getting some relapse is turning the TV on. It's mostly crap which is running, and crap must not run longer than half an hour, but what a heavenly quiet it is! No hopping around, grabbing things one is not allowed to touch (why am I hearing Snape's voice now- Put it down, Bella, we mustn't touch what isn't ours?), no quarelling- feels like an ordinary day, until the TV gets turned off, and the ruckus is on again. So I was so very glad when hubby was off with the boys and their father in the late afternoon. One more swim, this time in peace, then I did a last tidying up for today and went upstairs to the studio, to turn my PC on. Even grandmas need a bit of fun!
BTW: Hubby only mentioned today that our postman had been here yesterday to make his farewells- from now on he'll work at another part of our town. That's really sad- he was such a nice person, and we often had a quick coffee and talked about NZ, a place I love and where he lived for about ten years. Now we are back to boring- the new postman is half his age and a bore...
