Flavius is indeed sick- fever, a sore throat, a light headache. When his mum packed the boys' things I reminded her to not forget about medicine. Now guess what's not here (next to long-sleeved shirts)! Did not impress her much that once again she had messed things up, she called and told us to go to the doctor. Because of a light fever. No wonder that our medical system has exploded was my first thought. Then I looked into the boy's mouth and thought okay, maybe we better give the doctor a try- Flavius has tonsillitis. At least the boy is still eating, so no imminate danger of dying...
Otherwise we all had a bland day. It had been raining all night long, so much that I had to drive through a sea of water in the early morning. And it was way too cool again- 16 degrees until late afternoon, when the sun came out for a while, before the next downpour went off. I already hate this summer. Not even Cassian wanted out of the house, but watching too much TV is out of option. We were literally stuck in the living room, until it was time to fetch the paper bins- ours and the neighbours' one, who are on vacation with daughter and grandchild. That's the way life it's supposed to be, not depose your children for five long weeks at the grandparents then do another holiday at the sea- without grandparents, of course, because who would look after your pets then!
Enough with wallowing in pity- that's what hubby has chosen for us by currying favour with DiL- went from may we take care of the boys now to taking care once a week to the current dilemma. I have to take the situation with humour, because hubby seems quite happy. In the late afternoon the boys' mum called again- she does so each day, and it's always strange to have to watch another one-sided conversation- she and hubby will do the talking with me blending in occasionally, while Cassian and Flavius will simply ignore their mother. Not even a sickly Flavius was interested in talking but opted for building Lego. Hubby left with Flavius to take care of son's cats, Cassian and I watched a clip about werewolves. When the younger boy returned we were just practising proper werewolf howling. Flavius joined us for some action but soon decided that he was too sick for having fun. Poor guy, hopefully we'll get a doctor appointment for tomorrow!
