Planning...
Jul. 19th, 2025 05:28 pm ...again. Now that we have two days sans war cries and other inconveniences hubby is bored, very much so. Even though he is the one who regularly starts shouting at the boys when they are...boys, which in return makes me shout at him because one is not supposed to shout at young people- there are other, more sinister ways to get what you want:)) But on to hubby´s planning: He wants to go to an amusement park with Cassian and Flavius. And Oscar and Xaver, too. And he will take me and aunt Lil with him, the latter for the amusement rides less suitable for younger children. Hubby is a wimp when it's about roller coaster rides and the likes. Xaver, too. The other two are too short for more advanced rides. Oscar is neither short nor a wimp, that's why we need Lily. She's tall, solidly built and used to do bungee-jumping. Her biggest jump was from the Europe bridge in Tyrol. 192 metres free fall- no, thanks! That girl must be crazy! Not my daughter! Then again, hubby's daughter even less! She must have been swapped at birth, that's it! The problem with the amusement park is the weather and aunt Lil's working schedule. There will be mostly rainy days next week and the week after, too. Daughter´s two free days next week also show a lot of cold, especially Thursday. I have already given up on summer. Cassian and Flavius, too. This morning I went to my tablet's history, and what did I find? Clips about hamsters- that's what the older of the boys watched when I was still awake. Then came clips about Halloween and Wichtel, which I definitely did not click on. I now know where Cassian got the idea for converting an indoor glass house into a home for Christmas Wichtel from. I also wonder how a child barely able to write his own name can perfectly type in the word Halloween...
My Duracell husband was in full action today: While I only turned the washing on and hung the washing he was clipping off more of the bamboo, mowed the lawn, did weed a bit and did today´s lunch- sea bass Mediterranean style with olives, capers, dried tomatoes and garlic. Loved it! My job was preparing rosemary potatoes and tomato salad. That hubby almost killed my blender shaft when doing the coating is anotherv story- let´s say I just came to the kitchen in time, before the poor engine caught fire. But the fish tasted heavenly and will definitely have a repeat! In the afternoon I turned my PC on. Only by chance I heard number one´s call with hubby, when the two decided to do the trip to the amusement park a week later than planned. It was too late to get son on the phone but not too late to force hubby read the weather forecast- even worse than the weather for next week, so we might be off on Tuesday. I definitely won´t care if number one has created his own holiday programme, which I think has happened. Hubby then went out again, to cut the bamboo shoots to short pieces which fit into the organic waste bin. Because the bin must get full of organic waste, he said. Gods, that man must be more than bored- there´s a trailer in front of the garage which needs to get brought to the recycling centre. Of course, only when full. When I asked hubby to maybe cut a few branches off the Japanese cherry tree he started to cut a branch near the trunk and not where I asked him to. That´s when I got carried away a bit. Hubby definitely won´t be allowed to cut any more branches, I will call a professional, otherwise I can saw the trees down- what hubby tries to do (always) is mutilate the plants. He definitely has no connection to green save for plants one can harvest of. Besides, the best time to cut back magnolias and cherry trees is late summer and early autumn. Maybe number two will be nice and lend me his tree saw, so that I can try myself, in case I won´t find a professional who has time to do the job. It´s not that there aren´t any around, but they prefer big orders over small ones!
