The rascals fell asleep early last night but tried to get up at five- definitely not what I need these days! It's always Flavius who wakes his older brother, but hubby shooed both back to bed. We finally got up at seven thirty, had breakfast, then I turned the TV on to have half an hour for cleaning the ground floor. Ten minutes later Cassian returned his breakfast onto the tiles. I gave him a bucket in case he wanted to return some more, wiped the floor and was thoroughly worried, because by then the boy complained of stomach ache. Hubby started cooking the deer, I took boys and bucket to the bedroom for Staubmaus hunting- best game ever! No more dust under the bed, because the rascals wield dusters like pros, much laughter involved. Hubby served the boys firebrigade packet soup, which did wonders to Cassian's stomach problems. He even ate some lunch, which got served at two, after the parents had finally arrived. Finally, at five in the afternoon, family number two returned back home, and daughter dearest left, too, some deer ragout for freezing in her bag. Hubby and I will have leftover dumplings with gorgonzola sauce for tomorrow's lunch, so all the cooking has paid off.
After two very foggy days the sun came out half an hour before disappearing behind the mountain range. We made it up to two degrees plus and will apparently be spared from the next cold wave. Would be nice, because I am mentally done with winter! The blackbirds were back swarming the terrace, only that one suffered an untimely death when racing against neighbour's garden fence. One of the cats came for a visit but scorned the treats daughter put on the tiles- ate bird feed instead. That cat must be a bit gaga- sunflower seeds instead of tuna? Cat going vegetarian?
Hubby brought daughter to the bus stop then went to the next birthday celebration. God, I am so happy that I can miss all the hubbub this year! I made me a toast for dinner and turned the TV on, only to notice that I was not able to zap but was stuck on a sport channel. Hopefully hubby will be able to take care of the problem when he's back. It's either the remote (who knows how many falls it has suffered during the boys' stay) or the internet...
