I woke around five in the morning, because Foehn had blewn over the winter decoration on the terrace with a big bang- not a problem, it's mostly greens and twigs and can easily be repaired. I took aspirin to get my headache under control, had a late breakfast then tackled the undecorating of the Christmas tree, which Roman-Catholics keep until February 2nd, if possible. Well, many of us will eliminate the tree after January 6th, before it will shed its needles. Our tree did not shed thanks to the icy temperatures in the conservatory, but I need this room for jigsawing and crafting now. Sorry, tree, but hubby got you a nice place on the terrace, and you'll have lots of birds to keep you company!
Meanwhile hubby made the inside of his car representable, because it has to go to the car repair shop this evening. At least car has made it back to our house yesterday evening- it got stuck in snow and ice, when hubby parked it in front of a neighbour to attend the birthday celebration. The moment the vacuum cleaner was back inside I did a thorough cleaning of the conservatory, so when daughter will be back from her early shift tomorrow (next one will be on Wednesday, that´s why she will still be at our house) two tired ladies will start with one of the jigsaws I got for Christmas (got four of them). I hung today's washing up on the terrace, but foehn blew it into the snow in the garden. Now it's back inside, and hubby and I have to navigate around cloth hanger and various Hot Wheels gadgets, which won't find their way back down to the basement, because the boys might need them 'next time'. What does hubby know what I don't?
While I napped after lunch husband mine went grocery shopping. I think it's more about the shopping feeling than about groceries- we did not need one thing, most probably for the rest of the week and the next one also. Except bread, maybe, but there's toast, there's crisp bread and corn waffles I love to eat but husbsnd mine apperently not...
Shortly after hubby went to the third birthday celebration. Poor guy, now he cannot even drink the obligatory beer, because he will have to do driving at five in the afternoon, before the car repair shop will close, because I am not willing to pick him up there at seven thirty in the morning. Not when I have to do a three-in-the- morning drive to the airport! The street outside is so slippery that driving at step speed is almost too fast to avoid disaster aka finishing up in neighbour´s fence. I am already worrying about our early-morning tour...
