noadvertising Even though I had to get up early for driving, today turned out better than expected. I was able to sleep until eight thirty, which was nice, because our new newspaper deliverer woke me, when I had just fallen asleep again. That lady is worse than the old one, who had mostly done loud phone calls on her way to our letter box. This new one leaves the door of the car open, even though there has to be a hidden disco inside! No more need of feeding the birds at such a late time, they are aware that spring is near and are in the garden early. Two cats came for goodies, but the pretty white one that always came inside has not shown up for two months now- one more cat that did not make it to old age...
Hubby did housework (yay), I continued with the jigsaw. I prepared lunch, he was off for grocery shopping and came back with an armful of tulips. Since all our cats are gone I finally can have some. Namo and Vaire killed each and every tulip that made it into the house. Hubby also vacuumed my car- he needed it to transport his bike to the repair workshop in the evening- then picked daughter up at the airport. After lunch we had a rest in the TV nook with Ancient Aliens (side-splitting, we almost died of laughter), spent half an hour with the jigsaw then had mango cheesecake and coffee. Afterwards we left to buy a fancy dress for daughter, a cuddly sweatshirt and warm socks for me (I am always freezing when out in the conservatory) and finally met with sis and her daughter at the bodega for a glass of wine and tapas. I would have loved to stay longer, but hubby was the driver and needed to be off for the workshop. At least I was able to have a glass of wine this way! When hubby was finally off, daughter and I made ourselves comfortable with Sense and Sensibility (and more wine). Clearly none of us will make it to the end of the film, but it's nice to have a mother-daughter bonding now and then!
