I've got it!
Mar. 7th, 2026 06:22 pm I now know how to get down for breakfast without hubby hard on my heels! I noticed that husband mine strongly reacts to the sound of me fumbling for my glasses, before I start the day. Okay, this is loud in the stillness of the bedroom, but there's not enough light yet for finding them at the first go. So I left the glassed in the bathroom, faked the obligate tour de loo and quietly sneaked down to the kitchen - and lo and behold, I had a quiet breakfast, no one talking his head off, no daily spread over my coffee cup. Perfect start into the day! Even more perfect was that hubby had decided to take the boys to the yearly motor show in town, which meant four hours of free time. Of course, I had to cook- potato goulash with sausages. Easy-peasy, I threw the ingredients into the pot, roasted them, added soup then set the timer. After twenty minutes the potatoes were done and I had solved three crossword puzzles. I had a phone call with a friend, fended off sis's visit, even though I do not know yet what's worse- having sis and family over for coffee and dinner or having to drive to family number three and listen to Elsa's shouting for some hours. Apparently I am so no natural family person...
After lunch hubby loaded my car with Elsa's vanity, and since I am a bad, bad grandma I added some cosmetics- lipsticks and eyeshadows. What I did not add was makeup-remover. DiL will hopefully know how to clean her daughter- she had been the one who suggested the pricy vanity:))
At least the weather will be fine tomorrow except for the annoying Saharan dust, which pollutes the air and has painted windows and cars a sickly yellow. Hubby found a quick solution to the problem, he took out the garden hose and washed windows and cars down. Not perfect, but better than before...
