Devastated!

noadvertising Hubby, not I! Because we did not have the boys today- Cassian went to a friend after school, and Flavius is sick. So is his mother. Lucky me, because now I only have to cope with allergic sneezing and not a full-blown cold, which would be way worse!
To distract himself from disappointment hubby switched to jigsawing, while I fought with the sweet potatoes. One hour at 180 degrees in the convection oven were needed to get them soft enough for eating. And they weren't even big ones! Oh, I forgot the additional ten minutes, when the cheese got put atop of the filling! But we liked the outcome, very much so!
After a short rest after lunch I mopped the terrace, watered those plants hubby had dragged outside and had another mournful tour along the garden. Seems that both fig trees bit the dust- I am so terribly sad:)) What will I do without figs! Most likely buy them in the shop, as I have done all those years before!
I noticed that hubby tends to act quite annoying when bereft of the boys- he started restructuring the garage, before I was able to eliminate a few (or even more) items. He started pruning trees he wasn´t meant to prune. He spent half an hour searching for primroses in the garden, swearing to himself, before he realised that I had told him last year not to verticut so early and thusly kill what he had planted years ago. So sulking husband mine put bucket and shovel into the back of his car and wanted to dig out new primroses. That was before I told him that if he did not do the digging in son´s garden it was strictly forbidden. And since he was in no mood to probably see DiL, which he surely would have, because even Mrs. Head in the Air would have noticed him digging up her garden, he moped a bit more, got the bucket back out and went back to jigsawing. I retreated to the studio and continued reading, definitely happy about being able to spend time upstairs without having to play dust mouse or bad wizard in the bedroom...
