Rainbow cake
Mar. 12th, 2026 07:08 pm During night we finally got rain. I noticed, because my stomach acted up and I had to do the tour de loo thrice. It also got colder, we only made it up to eight degrees today. I got up at six thirty, went to the living room and turned the radiant heater on. Gas heating starts at six and takes some time, until one will feel the warmth! After breakfast and showering I finally tackled the hanging up of the flower paintings. I did not use the hooks hubby had brought from the DIY market (too big) but used nails, which worked fine.
At nine daughter called- she wanted to come for an overnight stay (without early shift this time- yay!, but needed a pick-up. Hubby agreed and left just when I started with cooking lunch (rice noodles with chicken Tahini). Thank heavens that I cooked twice as much as hubby and I'd eat- daughter was very hungry, she had had no breakfast, because she did a rainbow cake for afternoon coffee. Hence the need of getting picked up, since taking the bus with a cake was not an option for her. She knows how crowded our buses are!
After lunch daughter jigsawed- and how! One third is finished, more of it tomorrow, we had to stop early because of not enough natural light. The neighbours' cats must have sensed Lily visiting- for weeks we saw none of them, today two came for a visit and got kibbles and a lot of petting. One even sprayed the entry door- hubby was livid! I would not be surprised if he installed the wildlife camera to identify the culprit! And then what? Bad enough that those cats got so shy all of a sudden- there has to be a non-cat lover in the block of flats next street, otherwise the local cat population wouldn't be in constant hiding!
