sometimes you have to admit defeat
Dec. 16th, 2012 10:28 amI openly admit that I should have been more insistent when hubby found two Malamutes trailing across the front yards of our small housing estate. I really tried to lure them back into our garden to leash them and call the police or the animal shelter afterwards. I´ve never seen those two in our neighbourhood, but I am well-versed with dogs, having had at least one during the last thirty years. But it had been snowing heavily, it was freezing cold and I would have had to dress properly first, so I went back into the house and resumed housework. Apparently even dogs are up to a killing spree, because five minutes later they had killed two of our neighbours´cats, only the third one having been able to climb a saving tree. Not only killed, bitten to death, the cats had been downright torn to pieces. The dogs were captured a bit later, their owner picturing them as gentle and harmless. Certainly I am not the only one who would cry bloody murder if my child or grandchild would come near them. Hunting instinct is overwhelming among sledge dogs, especially if they aren´t trained properly. I really, really hope our neighbours will sue the owner!
