Huzzah, for the first time I was able to spend a peaceful Christmas Eve thanks to a special brew containing alcohol, quite a lot of it, properly speaking. No clash of religions, although this year my sons´ fiancees celebrated with us, one a devotee to some celtic traditional religion (I was not keen on gathering more information about it), the other one Romanian Orthodox ( at least these celebrate Christmas at the same time), which was a nice addition to our mix of Romish, Protestant, Jehova´s witnesses (who don´t celebrate Christmas at all, but came to convert us) and Jewish mishmash. Wassail wiped out any imminent danger of arguments flaming up. We had fun, and after midnight those who weren´t capable of driving home (the majority) found themselves a sleeping-place and stayed for dinner, which was fine because the turkey was enormous. Ýesterday´s guests have left, the next ones are expected in about half an hour, and no, no more Wassail today, because there´s no sherry left. Merry Christmas everyone!
