So real live has ambushed me with a vengeance, and there´s more to come within the next weeks. No wonder I was annoyed when today winter made its appearence with snow and storm and 20°F in tow, thusly forcing me to evacuate palm trees and bonsais, me hauling them into the cellar or draping them across the house. That´s hard work, you might say, but with the temperatures still dropping a rather chilly one. So after work was done, I took a nice hot shower to defrost a bit, and poured me a cup of coffee, to admire my handiwork, or rather what was left of the garden with handiwork done. What I saw was my rainwater tank, still full to the brim. Only that the upper part was already frozen. Not good when you can´t drain the tank because of a malfunctioning outlet valve. You have to turn the tank upside down to get rid of the water. So another walk into the garden it was, me pulling and yanking until the tank came down-with me in front of it. Boy, that was cold. And dirty! I dread to think how many dead spiders shot over my body. Fortunately hubby, who had watched the scene from inside, dragged me into the house before I was able to do my spider-alarm-screams. My daughter told me once that I´d have been a rather valuable weapon in the Ring War.Show me a spider at the right moment, and every Nazgul would have fled, no, not screaming, because to what purpose, if a female lunatic is just doing the same, only louder. So I was gently dragged into our bathroom and placed into the shower, to cool down a bit. Or in that case, to warm up again. Currently I am fighting the first signs of a cold. That´s what you get if you don´t accomplish your work in time!
