For almost thirty years I managed to escape the duty of a parent´s representative at school, until fate attacked this autumn in form of my daughter´s former math´s teacher and prospective form teacher, who wanted to avert further disaster ( we have one mother in class, a teacher herself, who constantly is on the warpath with all of her daughter´s teachers, and would gladly have taken that job, to be officially allowed to dig up the hatchet) and begged me on her knees to take that job- before the previously mentioned mother would do it. I am a good person and gave in. I should not have done so. On my to-do list was creating an e-mail distribution list, to spread the tidings from our school´s administration. The list was donated by the actual form teacher, heavily pregnant at the moment and maybe not that stressable. Well lucky for her, because only half of the adresses were correct, a few missing, and I could not even give her a lecture about that. I´ve spent two weeks scraping up the missing adresses and sent the parents a few notes in a row. Response came from beautiful Tyrol. Miss Trixi-dot-anonymous told me that she´d got my mails, but no way she´d attend our meeting, because she did not have any connections to our school and that last mail had been the third one sent to the wrong person. She politely asked me to cut out the dot, because apparently that had been my mistake. Only that I had not put a dot between the two names. I checked my e-mail distributor, no dot, deleted said adress as a precaution, typed it anew, of course without dot, and sent another mail. What I got was a new mail from Miss Trixi-dot-anonymous.The lady was not amused. Yep, the dot was here again, wreaking havoc. I checked again: distributor: no dot, e-mail-list: no dot. Send a mail: dot makes an appearence. My friends checked the list, because by now I thought I´d be paranoid, they did not find anything wrong. All the parents have got the correct mail-adress. Only Miss Trixie is still fuming, because today she got another mail with an invitation to a parent´s evening in December. Uh-oh! Some people have a troll acting up with them, I do have a dot. Wow! What am I to do now? Whack the dot with a fly flap, to make it go away?
