At the beginning of summer break my printer had quit printing, no ink, but that was okay at the end of semester. There should have been plenty of time for me to purchase a new ink cartridge, but hey, who wants to agonise about printers when there´s weeks of freedom ahead?
Last Thursday I wanted to print out my list of new students- not a chance without ink. I tried to scan a drawing- by this time even scanning was impossible (I know, my printer is eccentric). "Husband dearest, I need a new ink cartridge- immediately, please, to print out the list and numbers of those who will ensure our family budget is in the black!" I told my better half. Same day son no.4 needed a flag to cover a bald spot in his room (there aren´t many bald spots left given the number of posters on the walls). Metallica would be best. Immediately, of course! Now what do you think is easier to purchase: a Metallica flag or an ink cartridge? Well, the flag, apparently, which is mockingly waving at me from the corner of my son´s room, while the ink cartridge has been ordered at Ebay and will arrive on Tuesday, if I´m lucky. So no printed lists and scanned drawings for me this weekend, but I did wreak revenge on hubby by snatching his reading glasses without telling him, to be able to make out the tiny digits on my screen which are my students´ phone numbers. Vengeance is sweet!
