noadvertising: (night)
It began a long time ago, when during a music lesson one of my students felt inclined to discipline his younger sister, who had been a bit off the musical track. He did not manage to hit her but made impact with my flute, which, as a result, led to two tiny bits of my two front teeth missing. The mother of the two (the children, of course) was not amused and suggested to report the incident to her insurance, to get the dental repair properly done. I said no. Today I deeply regret this, because in the course of time the fillings on those teeth became rather unstable and had to be replaced many a time. Last time my dentist had to do a replacement he told me that this would be the last time he´d be able to do this, because there wasn´t much left of my front teeth. That was the day before I left for my holidays, four weeks ago. On Tuesday I bit into a cookie, albeit a tender one. The only crunchy thing in it were the two now missing fillings I was about to consume. So another trip to the dentist it was, because Halloween isn´t right here, though my visual outfit would have made an impression. Since I´m not allowed to scare away my students I had to bite the bullet and opt for dental crowns, which will cost about 900 Teuro each, which is almost twice as much as I had paid for the only dental crown I had needed up to now. Twice as expensive in the space of six years? I think it´s safe to say that joining the EU might have been a bit over-hasty!
