Hubby and I have been hauling the heavy pots with palms and olive trees from the conservatory into the garden, because it has been abnormally warm in there the last two weeks. Besides, we had not yet finished the big jigsaw hubby had bought for me. We had to put it together on the big table in the conservatory, because this is the only place the cats are not allowed to go into. Too many poisonous plants out there, and cats love to hunt those little pieces of cardboard, which surely would end in a disaster of epic proportions, should some pieces go missing! Daughter and I had a hard time to work on the jigsaw, because it had been so hot inside, even if we had opened the windows, at least those which have fly screens. There´s an iron rule if you want to work with number five: No open windows when she´s in a room, because a spider might decide that a visit inside might be nice, which would end with spider dead and daughter bawling her eyes out. That young woman is a case for a spider therapy, I´d say. There´s also a saying that one should not put plants outside before the end of April. But none of us read the weather forecast, so we did not see this relapse back to wintery conditions coming. Palms and olives will not be impressed by cold weather, I take them in in November, when temperatures often are below zero. Unfortunately there are more delicate plants that will need protection now that snow will be down into the valley once again, even if the cold weather situation won´t last long. I´m glad that daughter precious and I managed to finish the puzzle this morning, before a loud rumbling indicated the arrival of frosty air. The glass table, home to the 2000 pieces of the jigsaw before they wandered onto table number two, got carried back into the living room while number four quickly brought in culinary herbs and vegetable plants. Some minutes later it started hailing. Good that number four is a quick worker, there´s still a chance that we will have our own tomatos, cucumbers and peppers this year.
Tomorrow begins the fifth week of curfew. Hubby will have to order another jigsaw. The house is clean except for our cellar, where I do not put a foot into. That´s hubby´s resort now. One room for musical instruments, one room for practising his instrument, one for doing bacon, one for hubby´s tools... there´s a washing machine and a dryer down there, too. But since that´s all that gets operated by me hubby decided that he´d do the whole washing process himself. Lucky me, now there´s more time for streaming for daughter and me!
