Thank you once again...

We have the highest number of Covid infectionsof our country´s federal states. Numbers won´t go down, especially in skiing regions, and no one knew why. Sickness spreads among the residents but not those who are there for skiing alone. We were all appalled when they found out that it´s the British mutation that has begun to take over in the Western part of the country, even though British people aren´t yet allowed to get into the country save for business travels. Then first clusters got identified, and guess which way they came into being? Skiing, what else. Now skiing is allowed for all those who live here, be it locals or be it people who own an apartment. FFP2 masks, space of a cow (yes, our baby elephant has been dismissed) between skiers, cars half empty - all this was meant to protect people from getting sick. But while Austrians won´t find a place to stay overnight, because hotels, guesthouses and airbnbs are closed to them, someone found a profitable way to circumvent those rules by pretending to run a professional skiing instructor qualification. Only that many of those who came into the country to do an apprenticeship did not even know how to properly ski, because they had not done it before and did not intend to learn. What they wanted was a nice holiday in a hotel with a bit of winter sport during day and getting drunk during night (alcohol is pretty cheap here) by partying. Last week they found 14 Brits residing in some Tyrolean village, and they only found them because all of them had Covid symptoms and needed medical care. Today they found six Dutchmen, Brits and Germans in a hotel among other skiers waiting for apprenticeship. They had Covid, too. All of the 152 applicants are in quarantine now, their fun days having come to an abrupt halt, but who knows how many of the locals have been partying with them! All those people came into the country before the more restrictive sanctions became operative a few days ago. This way we will never come down with the numbers! Hope is that ski-lifts will close now that hotel business will stay closed until March at the minimum, which will be bad for those who love to ski but effective for fighting the virus. Doing exhausting ski tours will begin to flourish, but not among those who put parties in the first place. You simply can´t have that much fun when you have to wheeze up a mountain the next day! And now, dearest mayors aka Dorfkaisers, get your a.. in gear and find out who initiated this sublime way to lure people who should never have been allowed to get here into our country, and without sticking to quarantine at that!
