Since cases where local politicians got their families and themselves vaccinated instead of waiting their turn, ordinary people like me expected reprimands by chancellor and health minister. What we got was a recommendation done by local virologists (as if we had any) to put politicians first then go back to vaccinating very old people. Okay, we now know where we stand. A friend of mine living in Utah has already got her vaccination, and will have her next one in three weeks. She is my age, she has asthma like I have. I for one will have to wait until summer now that we don´t have enough vaccine, not even for the most important cases. Dailies and TV will not report about how quickly vaccination is done in the States and other countries. All we hear is the daily report of deaths numbers in US. In comparison to the highest death rate here the States have some room for improvement. They´d need about 7400 cases a day to top us. I do not think they will ever reach that goal, which is good for them. It is said that lockdown will get extended till Easter. That´s what you get when you put Maastricht criteria over medical needs. A lot helps a lot. Had the EU decided to spend more money for a pricier offerer of vaccines the rest of the world might not laugh at us! The What if- game is picking up speed...
Hubby loves green in his meals, even more now that this year´s winter is a bleak one. Hubby loves salad. And he loves chives. He wants me to put chives into salad, into sauces, into quark. I do not like the frozen sort. Last year winter was quite warm, so we had chives the whole season. This year it´s way colder and there´s more snow, so no chives. Husband went to the shop and bought a pot of it. Alas, chives has been used as a replacement for cat grass. Namo and Vaire wrecked the pot, ate most of the green, and what they did not eat was on the kitchen floor this morning. The eaten part landed on the Persian carpet together with lots of hairballs. First thing I´ll do tomorrow is buy a new pot for hubby and place it in the conservatory until further use. Poor cats will have to wait for their cat grass until garden centres will re-open for ever and a day!
